Kita Ravelin

Welcome to our inclusive daycare center
Since 2012, Kita Ravelin has been a loving and family-oriented place where children aged 1 to 6 can play, learn and feel safe and secure. In our daycare center, we care for up to 50 children: 20 children in the nursery area and 30 children in the elementary area. We place particular emphasis on healthy nutrition, cultural diversity, language development integrated into everyday life, inclusion, as well as movement and nature experiences. Surrounded by plenty of greenery, we offer children daily opportunities for movement, nature experiences and little adventures, whether on our large playground, during walks or on trips to the nearby little woodland.
Our dedicated team supports the children with warmth, patience and joy. We work according to the Situational Approach and in semi-open groups, so that each child can be individually supported and encouraged. With 8 educators, 3 trainees and one voluntary social year participant, our staff-to-child ratio exceeds the requirements set by the Senate.
As an inclusive daycare center, it is especially important to us that children with and without special support needs grow up together. Children from different cultures, religions and social backgrounds meet here, learn from one another and experience various traditions, celebrations and customs together. In this way, we promote openness, tolerance and mutual understanding. Each child, with their personality, feelings, strengths and needs, is at the center of our work. Our inclusion educators support the children with empathy and encourage them according to their individual needs.
An important focus of our educational work is language development in everyday life. We create many opportunities for children to experience language in a lively and natural way. Each child is supported individually and can develop their language skills at their own pace.
With us, children learn through play how much joy healthy nutrition can bring. We pay attention to balanced, wholesome and, whenever possible, organic food.
Movement, outings and nature experiences are a natural part of our daily daycare routine. We spend a lot of time outdoors, use our own playground and regularly explore the green surroundings of Britz as well as places such as libraries, museums or the zoo.
For us, play is the key to understanding the world. Through painting, crafting, music, movement and shared discovery, children develop imagination, independence, courage, friendships and self-confidence. We create a warm and trusting atmosphere in which children can grow, learn and discover the world safely.
We look forward to welcoming new little world explorers!
If you are looking for a place where your child will be cared for, individually supported and accompanied through life with joy, then you have come to the right place.

FamilienZitadelle gGmbH is a non-profit independent provider with over 15 years of experience in childcare. We currently operate a daycare center in Berlin-Britz for up to 50 children.
At the heart of our work are loving, reliable and professionally grounded childcare, as well as the individual support and development of each child. All children and families are welcome with us, regardless of origin, language, culture, financial situation or special support needs.
A trusting partnership with parents is especially important to us. The foundation of our educational work is the Berlin Educational Program.
We support children in their development through a wide range of educational opportunities, language development integrated into everyday life, individual observation and documentation, as well as a gentle settling-in process. Children with and without special support needs are cared for together and supported according to their individual needs.
The transition from daycare to school is also prepared together with parents and our cooperating school.
